About me
Welcome to my blog. My name is Hunter Williamson. I'm an active duty military member stationed in Okinawa, Japan with a background in journalism who is highly interested in current events, especially in the Indo-Pacific. With that said, all of my work is independent and in no way affiliated with the Department of Defense or US government. In that same vein, any views expressed are my own and do not represent those of the DoD or US government.

With that disclaimer out of the way, let me tell you a bit more about my site. I started this website in order to explain the complex issues shaping the Indo-Pacific and the world at large. My work is especially focused on US-China relations. The world is entering a new era, one defined by the decline of American power and the rise of other nations. It is confusing and nuanced, issues exacerbated by social media, disinformation and misinformation. My aim is to help others make sense of it all and understand a rapidly evolving world. Prior to covering the Indo-Pacific, I wrote extensively about the Middle East, especially Syria and the Islamic State.

Outside of my blog, I have also written for the Marine Corps Gazette, WhoWhatWhy and the Independent Florida Alligator.
